Women in Engineering Poster Session

Empowering Women at the Heart of Innovation: Emerging Technologies and Gender Equity

Welcome to the Women in Engineering Poster Session at EDUCON 2025, a groundbreaking event celebrating gender equity in STEM. This inaugural session invites academics, researchers, professionals, and students to showcase their work and inspire innovation at the intersection of technology and empowerment.

Let’s celebrate the power of diversity and inclusion in engineering at EDUCON 2025. Together, we can empower women to lead the future of innovation!

Call for Posters: Themes and Guidelines

We invite submissions of short papers (or work in progress) that highlight innovative approaches, policies, and case studies designed to advance access, progression, attainment, and retention for women in engineering.

Themes for Poster Submissions

  • Inclusion of women into engineering curriculum: Examples and case studies that highlight the applicability of engineering innovations to women, their contributions to improving the quality of life for women.
  • Fostering a sense of belonging for students: Curricular and extracurricular activities aimed at enabling women to be their authentic selves.
  • Intersectionality and STEM identity: Investigations and effective approaches to address or support the development of women’s STEM identity through intersectional lines.
  • Compassion in engineering education: Pedagogically informed practices to address the role of compassion in learning, teaching, and assessment and demonstrate the importance of design by the inclusion of underrepresented groups (women in STEM, neurodiverse, mature, with caring/part-time responsibilities, etc.).
  • Ethical challenges of emerging tech for women in STEM: Examining how ethical frameworks can address gender bias in AI, machine learning, and other technologies. Exploring how tools can be used to create inclusive learning experiences.
  • Empowering women in engineering leadership: Highlighting effective approaches to improving promotion and retention rates while supporting mental well-being and eradicating emotional labor.
