Call for Special Session Papers

The 2025 IEEE Global Engineering Education Conference (EDUCON 2025) invites researchers, educators, and professionals to submit papers for its Special Sessions. EDUCON 2025 will feature 10 special sessions on cutting-edge topics in engineering education, innovation, and technology. These sessions provide a unique platform for in-depth discussions on emerging trends, methodologies, and practices in education.

Special Session Topics

We are seeking high-quality papers that explore a wide range of topics related to engineering education. The EDUCON 2025 Special Sessions are listed below:

  • Online and Remote Laboratories: Technology and Education Perspectives

  • Pre-University STEM Outreach: Igniting Interest in STEM in School-Aged Children
  • Inclusion and Diversity in Engineering Education IDEE'25
  • Exploring Strategies to Integrate Ethics Into Electrical Engineering Curricula
  • Leveraging LLMs and Multi-Modal AI for Enhanced Engagement in Hybrid Educational Contexts

Submission Details

Authors are invited to submit original, high-quality research papers for consideration in one of the EDUCON 2025 Special Sessions. The paper should focus on relevant, forward-thinking contributions to engineering education, and should fit the topics of the selected session.

  • Deadline for Special Session Papers: January 10, 2025
  • Notification of Acceptance: January 29, 2025
  • Final Manuscript Deadline: February 19, 2025

Submission Guidelines

  • Papers must be submitted electronically via the EDUCON 2025 paper submission system.
  • The IEEE Style Guide and Conference Paper Templates in various formats are available here
  • Each paper should be no longer than 10 pages (including references) in IEEE format. If formatting instructions are provided for your selected session, you must adhere to the instructions provided.
  • All papers will be subject to peer review and evaluated based on originality, relevance, clarity, and contribution to the field.**

**EDUCON 2025 will implement a double-anonymous review process. Please ensure your manuscripts are fully anonymized before uploading. No author or affiliation information should be present in your uploaded document.

While no author or affiliation information should be present in your uploaded document in keeping with our double-anonymous review process, all contributing authors must be added to the EDAS submission portal. No changes to the author listing may be made after the Preliminary Paper submission deadline. Please ensure all authors are fully accounted for in EDAS prior to the deadline. There will be no exceptions.

If authors would like to post their papers electronically on any website, any FTP site, or any other electronic dissemination technique, they must include the IEEE Copyright notice on the initial screen displaying the IEEE-copyrighted material.

IEEE Copyright Form

Each accepted contribution to EDUCON 2025 must be accompanied by a signed Copyright Form. The copyright form should be filled out and signed by one author, preferably the primary author.
